Happy New Year From Heritage
"Pe
ople can't encounter God without being changed." - Erik Gragert
The New Year is here the old year has passed. With it has passed some hard times and major losses but the New Year comes with hope of better things. When we surrender our lives to Christ and His will then the losses are few as we are working in an eternal kingdom, with eternal goals.
We have laid up our treasures where they will last forever. Let us live this year by giving more than we have ever given, forgiving more than we are able to forgive on our own, and loving those who have become unlovable. God wants to bless us but He cannot do that if we only want our will and our way. His way is not our way, but our way can become His way if we surrender all we are and all we have to Him.
Heritage is a great church because we have great people that serve a great God. Let us live to show others the light of Christ and they too will be changed.

GOD INCLUDES US IN EVERYTHING!
If we' re not invited we exclude our selves. He has full control of our lives good or bad. We have to expect this is his will in our lives and say thank you Jesus in all circumstances of life.
With so many changes coming for Heritage Church of God in 2012 we will be amazed what God can do with us each individually.
The Bible is the word of God and is powerful and life changing. The promises of God start with 2 Timothy 3:16 when God tells us that all scriptures in the Bibles are inspired by God. With this promise of God in hand we can be assured that what we learn in the Bible comes from him!
Isaiah 40:29-31
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
Happy New Year!
God Bless You!

Diet Sodas Linked to Obesity
Diet Sodas Linked to Increase Obesity & Diabetes
Written By: R. Scott Siewert
Director of Health & Wellness
I wrote about this topic almost a year ago but I thought it was worth repeating because of the importance of the misconception about diet beverages.
Obesity risk increases for every can of diet soda consumed per day, says researchers, and artificial sweeteners may contribute to the growing rate if diabetes. Although intended to help consumers keep a sleek physique, diet sodas actually help weight gain according to a new study.
The research stemmed from a long term study tracking the health of nearly 500 men and women for an average of 9.5 years. In comparing the weight of study participants who drank regular soda to those who drank diet soda, those drinking diet soda saw their waistlines expand 70% faster than participant drinking regular soda. Other data showed those drinking two or more cans of diet soda per day had a 500% greater increase in their waist circumference, indicating significant weight gain.
The lead researcher, Helen P. Hazuda, PHD, chief of the Division of Clinical epidemiology in the school of medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, concluded that “promotion of diet sodas and artificial sweeteners as healthy alternatives may be ill-advised.”
Did You Know?
About 90% of heart attacks occur early in the morning and it can be minimized if one drinks a glass or two of water (NOT alcohol or beer) before retiring at night. I knew water is important but I never knew about the special times to drink it.
Drinking water at the correct time maximizes its effectiveness on the human body
2 glasses of water after waking up – helps to activate internal organs
1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal – helps digestion
1 glass of water before taking a bath = helps to lower blood pressure
1 glass of water before going to bed – avoids stroke or heart attack
