"How Your Shopping Can Be A Fundraiser for Heritage Church of God"

You may be asking yourself, “What can I do to help raise funds for Heritage Church of God?” The feature article this month explains how you can raise money for our church without making any changes in your monthly budget. However with your commitment to use SCRIP (gift cards) each weekly our church will receive rebates.

Scrip is a fundraising program; that allows you to raise money for our Church without altering your monthly budget or volunteering extra time. All it takes is a commitment to using gift cards to do your shopping. Here’s how you can help.

The church is able to purchase SCRIP (gift cards) from hundreds of participating stores at a discount and sell them at face value. You spend the gift card just like cash to purchase groceries, gasoline, clothes, home improvements, or eating out at your favorite restaurant. They make great presents to give your grandchildren and all your friends & families.

Gift cards are available from over 300 national and local retailers’ If the gift card you need is not available, just ask your SCRIP (gift card) representative and they will review the options for getting you this card. You can order your monthly budget amount by simply filling out the order form in the privacy of your home each week and submit via the Church’s Website. Your order will be kept confidential and will be waiting on you to pick up after Sunday morning service.

Shopping Cart Fundraising

With scrip fundraising, you simply do your regular weekly shopping with gift cards from America's favorite retailers. With each purchase, our Church earns cash rebates that can quickly add up to tens of thousands of dollars a year - money that can be used for our Church’s administration costs, special projects, advertisement to promote growth, and lots more.

Scrip is a powerful fundraising tool because families generate revenue through purchases they would make anyway. An organization of 150 families easily spends between one and two million dollars per year on food, clothing and other essentials. If these families use scrip (gift cards) for these purchases, they can raise as much as $40,000 to $8

0,000 per year for The Heritage Church of God --without spending an additional penny.

The participating stores give the church varying discount amounts - anywhere from 3% to 13%. The general discounted figure is 4% to 8%. That’s where the church makes money.  We need your commitment to using these gift cards to make your purchases each month.

This is a “win-win” situation.  Your budget doesn’t change and you’ve helped the church with additional finances.  You still spend the same amount of money; you just use Scrip (gift cards) to pay rather than using cash. The following is an example of how each family could earn extra dollars for the church using Scrip.

Assuming an average of 6% earned on $650 spent per month, a single family could contribute approximately $470 additional funds in one year.  If 50 families participated that would be $23,500 in just one year!!!

In the past, Scrip money has paid for re-finishing the gym and kitchen floors, purchased the storage shed, bought necessary supplies and given funds to Benevolence to help those in need.
