Why do we have music in the church?  Won’t just a sermon do?  The Bible is full of instructions for praising God with music.  We praise God with song; we thank God in song; we worship God through song.

Heritage Church of God is a church full of music.  We begin our services with music to prepare the hearts of worshipers to hear the Word of God that our Pastor is to bring before us.  The music prior to the message stills our hearts and helps us to rid ourselves of anything that may distract us from the words the Lord has put on his heart.  The music brings us closer into His presence and allows us to truly worship Him.

Our music is blended in nature, but all is to praise and glorify God.  There are various avenues of service through music at Heritage.  There is vocal and instrumental.  Some is geared toward trained musicians, others toward those who have no formal training, but recognize their God given gift of music and others toward support of the musicians.  Here are some examples:

• Bells
• Choir
• Ensembles
• Filing and organizing music
• Database and music maintenance
