Jubiliee Testimonies

This is a time to look back and reclaim the feeling, assurance, commitment, and love we have for the Lord Jesus Christ. You can revisit the 50 days of Jubilee Testimonies to view previously published testimony letters from our congregation.

Don't Compromise Your Faith

Matthew 5:37
"Let your Yes be Yes and your No be No"

Today I can look back and see that I did compromise my faith, and it pulled me away from God. I was on a road trip (driving) around the world. Can you imagine how long this would take (days, months and years).
Yes, that was me, until one day I picked up the Bible and found the truth.

The Shepherd

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want; Jesus provides for our needs.

He gives our life meaning. O What marvelous love.

He makes me lie down in green pastures; He pried loose the burden of sin, and planted seeds of grace.

He leads me beside the still waters; God is leading us. We need not worry, because He is in control.

He restores my soul; Jesus gives us hope, love, joy and peace.

He leads me in the path of righteousness; this path is narrow and we need God’s Word to guide us. Reading the Bible and attending Bible study is a start.

For His name’s sake; God likes to hear us call His name. (Our Father).

Mountain Climbing

As I read the wonderful thoughts and blessings from our family at Heritage, I began thinking of what I have to say. And there it was – mountain climbing. God has given me several “big mountains" to climb in the later years of my life but this most recent one is the biggest…it’s for a lifetime, they tell me. My medicine is “life sustaining” so if I am off it any length of time that could be it. “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain”. Phil 1:21. I have to admit, the human part of me is very weak and I get discouraged and down, but I have two beautiful kids to help me put those hiker boots back on, pull up the bootstraps, and trudge on up that mountain.

Someone Bigger Than Me

Ever since I can remember, I always knew there was someone bigger than me. I had three windows in my childhood bedroom and one gave me a beautiful view of our side yard. I could watch the sky and trees and whoever happened to be in the driveway at the time. It was my little corner of heaven. I would stare out of my window and wonder, “How does everything in nature know its place? Someone must have placed the world and all the natural wonders where they are for a reason. But why, and do I even need to know why? Is it my place to ask?”

Our New Family

I was born back in 1948. It was a good time to be born in America, the good old USA. World War II had just ended.  The atomic bomb had been set off and the cold war was just beginning.  I grew up hearing about the Iron Curtain. I am part of the famous Baby Boomer generation.

I was the last of 6 children, all of whom were considerably older than me.  Unfortunately my 5 older siblings were raised during the great depression.  Mom and Dad suffered through that Great Depression and raised their family.  Like any other families they had good times and bad times.  By the time I arrived they had moved into the home that would be their home the rest of their lives.

Amazing Grace

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me. Your love, O Lord endures forever. (NIV Psalms) 138:8

Amazing Grace,  that saved a wretch like me. I was blind to the sight of God by other things in my life; but now I see. I was deaf to God’s voice; but now I hear. That day, was the beginning of a new life.

New friends, giving up myself and serving others and most of all studying the Word, and learning to lean on Jesus.
Jesus was born to carry the burdens of man’s sin on the world’s loneliest cross, even though they did not see – He opened their eyes; even though they did not hear – God spoke to them, so that they would not fear.
